I met a man today and we had a conversation. Though he has been dead for the last 6 years, our souls communicated across the traditional barriers which separate the living and the dead. I saw him in video, in sound, in colour, in print. He is not a perfect man and I loved it. From his work I got a sense of how he viewed people, judged them one by one and was unafraid to see them in all their nakedness. To have lived to have met this man posthumously, I am grateful.
Happy 100th Birthday Gordon Parks.
